2nd Annual Midnight Madness Indoor Soccer Tournament
Eight Virginia teams participated in the 2nd Annual Midnight Madness Indoor Soccer Tournament on Saturday, February 20th, 2010 at Dulles SportsPlex in Ashburn, VA. The participating teams consisted of Khorassan, Afghan 11, Ayienda, Afghan United, Pamir, Ariana, Afghanica, and FC Taban. After a grueling round robin, the top 4 teams advanced to the semi-finals. Top ranked Ariana played 4th ranked Pamir while 2nd ranked Afghan United played 3rd ranked Ayienda. At 6:00 AM, after playing a total of 6 games in the span of 5 hours, Ariana and Afghan United advanced to the championship game. The teams scored evenly back and forth until the last 3 minutes of the game when Afghan United clinched the win with two late goals ending the game at 4-2. Congratulations to 1st place champions Afghan United and 2nd place winner Ariana!
ASL Championship Game
The Afghan Sports Federation's ASL season came to end in a grand finale on November 16th, 2009 at the Fairfax County South Run Park facilities soccer fields in an exciting game between Afghan 11 and Afghan United teams that reached the Championship game by beating their opponents a week earlier. Despite the cold weather, a horde of supporters from both teams and officials of ASF attended the Championship game with great enthusiasm. The first half of the game was a much closer competitively with Afghan United pulling away by the end of the game with a score of 3 vs 0.
Afghan 11 players had plenty of chances to score and change the outcome of the game, yet they were not able to capitalize on their opportunity including a penalty kick that their captain missed which sealed the game. Afghan United had a steady and ready crew under the leadership of its coach/player that reflected in the final result.
Since Fall of 1998, the Afghan Sports Federation has been holding seasonal soccer tournaments that includes a Spring and Fall season for its teams that get prepared for the annual what has become known thru out the World as the 4ht of July tournament. 
At the end of the game, trophies and medals were awarded to the teams for their efforts and it was announced that ASF/ASL will be holding at least one mini indoor tournament during the Winter for its teams and players.

Team Tin Tin wins the Championship for the Midnight Madness Indoor Soccer Tournament 2009

After an immense battle, team Tin Tin captured the Championship trophy in this year's Indoor Soccer Tournament sponsored by the Afghan Soccer League of ASF. Team Afghan United placed 2nd. Congratulations to all the participating teams!

Afghan United Wins the ASL Fall Season 2008 Championship!

In an exciting game, Afghan United defeated Ariana 1-0 for the Fall Season Championship. For the Third Place Game, Afghan 11 played Pamir and won Third Place in a penalty shootout after a tie game of 0-0. The ASF Executive Committee and Advisors presented trophies and medals to the winning teams. Afghan Sports Federation and Afghan Soccer League congratulate the participating teams and the champions for their efforts.

Afghan Soccer League (ASL) Spring 2008 Season
Comes to a Dramatic Conclusion

The Championship game between Afghan United and Ariana started around 8:30pm on June 26th and ended with penalty kicks just before 11pm.
The game began with a special tribute to “Farid Abbasi”, the 22 years old player from Afghan united team whose promising life was cut short three weeks ago.
The game was tied 2-2 after the regulation and 10 minutes half overtime. Finally, Afghan United prevailed the game 4-3 in a penalty kick, The game was cheered by a crowed of over 700 spectators and Fans.
Congratulations to both Ariana & Afghan United. This season’s cup was dedicated to Farid Abbasi.
