KABUL, Aug 21 (Pajhwok Afghan News): Afghanistan U-19 gained its second consecutive victory in the ACC Under-19 Elite Cup 2007 cricket tournament in Malasia on Tuesday.
The Afghan squad defeated Qatar by 44 runs, secretary general of the Cricket Federation and team coach Taj Malak Alam told Pajhwok Afghan News over the telephone from Kuala Lumpur.
Bating first, the Afghan squad scored 162 runs in 46 overs. All the Afghan players returned to the pavilion while four over were still remaining.
Chasing the target, the Qatar team scored only 118 runs when their final wicket came down in the 36th over the 50-over game.
Noorul Haq stayed on top of the game by piling 64 runs. He was declared man-of-the-match. Among the bowlers, Ezatullah got three and Emal Wafa two wickets.
Afghanistan will play its third match of the tournament against Hong Kong on Friday. 
Other teams participating in the U-19 tournament included Malaysia, Qatar, Nepal, Thailand, Oman, UAE, Singapore and Kuwait.
